Veterans with disabilities resulting from the war can receive monetary compensation of up to UAH 70,000 for converting their own vehicle in accordance with individual needs.
The programme is implemented by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and is aimed at increasing the mobility, independence and accessibility of everyday life for Defenders.
The state reimburses the actual costs of converting the vehicle, but no more than UAH 70,000. The compensation is provided once, after documentary confirmation of the expenses incurred.
🔹Who can receive compensation?
Persons with disabilities resulting from the war who:
✅ have completed driver training or retraining as persons with disabilities at accredited driving schools;
✅ have obtained a driver's licence with the relevant endorsements;
✅ have converted their own vehicle in accordance with the established requirements;
✅ have registered the converted vehicle.
🔹How to receive compensation?
To arrange the payment, you must submit an application with the relevant documents to the structural unit responsible for veterans policy of the regional or district state administration or the relevant executive body of the local council.
If the necessary documents are already at the disposal of the authorised body or are contained in state registers, there is no need to submit them again. It is enough to indicate the relevant information in the application.
💳 The funds are transferred to the recipient's bank account within five working days after the funding is received in the account of the relevant body.
The Ministry of Veterans Affairs has also approved a standard form of agreement for vehicle conversion, which defines the procedure for performing the work, the rights and obligations of the parties and the terms of payment.

The ability to move around independently, work, study and take part in public life is an important component of a barrier-free environment. Such support helps veterans adapt vehicles to their own needs and reduce the financial burden on families.
